What is .swf file ?

SWF is an Adobe Flash file format used for multimedia, vector graphics and ActionScript. Originating with FutureWave Software, then transferred to Macromedia, and then coming under the control of Adobe, SWF files can contain animations or applets of varying degrees of interactivity and function.

Steps to download swf file :

1. Open the Web page which contains the embedded SWF Flash file that you are eyeing to download. Let the SWF file stream through once completely.

2. On any empty white screen, right-click and select the PAGE INFO context menu option.

3. Alternatively, Try this, if you are using Mozilla Firefox. Click go to Tools >> Page Info.

4. Select the MEDIA tab. It will provide list of image formats, flash files etc. from the webpage.

5. Check for the file with the SWF extension, you were looking for. The TYPE column will show you an Embed filetype, if it exists there. Click on the file and click SAVE AS to save the file.
