ICC Cricket World Cup to scheduled to held in Australia and New Zealand in February - March 2015. Today, we are providing you with 2015 World Cup Schedule. The ICC Cricket World Cup is an ODI [One Day Int'l] cricket competition run by the ICC. Till date, there has been ten editions of ICC Cricket World Cup, inaugural being hosted by England back in 1975, where West Indies and Australia entered finals, and WI winning the final comfortably.

The most recent edition was organized by sub-continent trio viz; India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh in 2011, where India completed their second world cup triumph in the finals against Sri Lanka. Full list of all editions and winners is given below.

ICC Cricket World Cup 2014

 

The 2015 ICC World Cup will be the eleventh edition of this pinnacle tournament of cricket. This time the tournament is scheduled to take place in Oceania [Australia & New Zealand] from 14 February to 29 March 2015. The matches to be played in total of fourteen cities of two countries –  

Australia : Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney
New Zealand : Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, Hamilton, Napier, Nelson, Wellington
It will be second tournament to held in this part of world after 1992. This time total number of matches are 49. Two groups are divided into seven teams of each.

Group A : Australia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, England, New Zealand, Scotland, Sri Lanka

Group B : India, Ireland, Pakistan, South Africa, West Indies, UAE, Zimbabwe

  • Sachin Tendulkar holds an individual records of  most scores over fifty (15), most centuries (6) and most runs (2278) than any other cricketer in World Cup history.
  • Glenn McGrath has taken more wickets at a higher strike rate with a better economy rate.
  • Ricky Ponting is the leading fielder in terms of catches made, in single tournament and in the competition's history.
  • Adam Gilchrist  has made the most dismissals in a single match, in single tournament and in World Cup history.
  • Australia hold several team records viz; most wins (55), the highest win percentage (74%), the most consecutive wins. They were undefeated in the 2003 and 2007 editions.
  • Canada has lowest score in the history of the tournament and Zimbabwe has record number of matches lost (37).
  • Canadian Nicholas De Groot's holds record of three consecutive ducks. 
  • Highest score is 413–5 by India v  Bermuda (2007).
  • Lowest score is 36 by Canada v Sri Lanka (2003).
  • Highest successful run chase is 329/7 byIreland v England (2011).
  • Highest winning margin (runs) ia 257 by India v  Bermuda (2007).
  • Lowest winning margin (runs) is 1 by Australia v  India (1987).
  • Fastest century is by Kevin O'Brien of Ireland vs England (2011) off just 50 balls.
  • Fastest fifty is by Brendon McCullum of New Zealand vs Canada (2007) off just 20 balls.
