SSC CGLE 2016 changed Pattern | SSC Cgle Tier-1 starting 27 August 2016

SSC board going to change the pattern of SSC CGL 2016 as declared on the SSC Website. The First Change in SSC CGL is the change in mode of exam that means SSC CGL 2016 is to be conduct via the computer based online Test. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released a revised exam datesheet for the Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGLE), 2016 as announced by SSC official from A.K Dadhich (Under Secretary). SSC CGL 2016 exam new dates give more time to prepare as per new dates Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam 2016 Tier 1 with new  pattern is to be held on 27 August 2016.



In Tier 1, the changes made by the commission :

  • Number of questions reduced from 200 to 100 questions.
  • It will carry a total of 200 marks.
  • The exam would be held for a duration of 75 minutes.
  • The mode of examination will be computer based. 
  • There will be negative marking of 0.50 for each wrong answer in Tier-I.
  • There will be no sectional cut-off in Tier 1.
  • Time Duration of Tire 1 is 75 Minutes (Total) and 
  • 100 Minutes For VH and candidates suffering from Cerebral Palsy.

Details of Tier 1 :

The exam will consist of the following four sections:
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning (25 questions)
  • General Awareness (25 questions)
  • Quantitative Aptitude (25 questions)
  • English Comprehension (25 questions)

Details of Tier 2 Exam Pattern 2016

  • Tier-II, the negative marking system will remain unchanged i.e. -0.25 per wrong answer.

Details of Tier 3

Commission has decided to introduce a Descriptive paper of English/Hindi as Tier 3. Tier 3 will be bilingual. The candidate will have to choose any one medium.

Tier: III
Mode of examination: Pen and Paper mode
Scheme of examination: Descriptive Paper in English/Hindi (writing of essay/precis/letter/application writing etc.)
Marks:  100
Time: 60 minutes

The Final merit will be prepared on overall performance of Tier1, Tier2, Tier3. However, Candidates need to qualify all the tiers separately.
